I recently stayed at the County Arms Hotel in Birr, County Offaly, and I have to say, I had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The hotel has a lovely atmosphere, the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, and the service was excellent.

I would especially like to mention Rosie, Alison, Betty, and Cloey, who were absolutely brilliant. They were so friendly, helpful, professional, and welcoming throughout my stay. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and they went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. Their kindness and excellent customer service really stood out and made my stay even more enjoyable.

It is staff like Rosie, Alison, Betty, and Cloey who make such a difference to a hotel. They made me feel genuinely welcomed and looked after, and they are a real credit to the County Arms.

The hotel itself was comfortable, clean, and had a great atmosphere. I really enjoyed my time there and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the service to the hospitality, everything was excellent.

I would definitely recommend the County Arms Hotel in Birr to anyone looking for a great place to stay in County Offaly. I will certainly be back again, and I hope the management recognise what a fantastic team they have.

My wife and I had a very enjoyable mid week break at the County Arms Hotel. The hotel is ideally situated a few minutes walk from the town. We stayed 2 nights B&B and had evening meal in the hotel each evening, one in the bar and one in …

Arrived on Friday. Wedding at venue. The Irish like to party. Seating available under bedroom window. Alot of activity until 0500. Generally poor night's sleep.

At over €250 per night - I expected a quality customer service. We were greeted warmly on arrival. However the
room didn't have a small fridge.
Breakfast was "help yourself to toast and coffee". . I expected toast to be delivered to table by the abundance of staff in the breakfast room. And coffee supplied from kitchen's by staff
[ stayed at another hotel whilst in Ireland, costing €100 cheaper and their service was exceptional]
Please review your buffet options for breakfast and how you serve your breakfast.

Response from the owner

Hi Elizabeth,

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you, and thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback about your stay with us.

We’re pleased to hear that you received a warm welcome on arrival, but we’re sorry that the noise outside your bedroom had such a significant impact on your sleep. We appreciate you would expect a comfortable and restful stay, and we understand your disappointment.

We’ve also noted your comments regarding the lack of a small fridge in the room and your breakfast experience. Your feedback around the buffet offering and the level of table service you expected is particularly useful, and we’ll be sharing this with the relevant Heads of Department and Senior Management team for review.

We appreciate you taking the time to compare your experience with another hotel and explain where you felt the service could have been better. Feedback like this helps us look at the overall guest experience from our customers’ perspective.

Thank you again for your honest feedback, Elizabeth. We’re sorry that your stay did not meet the standard you expected, and we hope we’ll have the opportunity to welcome you back to County Arms and provide a more comfortable and enjoyable experience.
